Man Impacted Landscape - Photography (a) Contest Entry
You can own this. Offers accepted. Information
This is the historic Ahwahnee motel in the center of Yosemite National park. I chose it for this contest as it shows how man impacts the environment, even within the most scenic areas.
Man bases his rigid structures on straight lines and right angles as the motel shows. Nature's structure's are based on curves, chaos and random shapes. Note how man tried to mimic nature with the stone face on the entry way. But, he still could not get by without using a rigid pattern.
We don't always stop and think how totally different each approach is. The mind just accepts the two approaches as normal.
In this photo, the two styles of man and nature could not be any more different.
One of scenic vistas and relaxing views, vs. rigid, strong and dominant.
