The Southern Skipperling [Copaeodes minimus] is thought to be the smallest skipper of the Americas. It reaches about 4/8 to 7/8 inches. The butterfly ranges from the South-eastern United States through Mexico, Central America to Panama. It might be travel northward through the summer, but not for long distance.

I painted this digitally in ArtRage on black basic canvas with the palette knife and different sized and shaped oil brushes. I used non metallic oil colors I blended from the provided colors in the paint tubes.
