State Flower of Delaware

Peach Blossoms

by Malmax

State Flower Contest Winner
The peach blossom is 2.5 to 3 cm in diameter with five petals. Peach blossoms are light pink to carmine in color, and can even have a dark purple hue. The peach blossom was adapted as Delaware's floral emblem by an act of legislature on March 9, 1895. In 1953 it was named as the official State Flower of Delaware. I had this beauty growing in my backyard when this photo was taken earlier in the spring. Thank you for viewing.
