A couple of cardinals together during the golden hour. These birds are monogamous and mate for life. They are Northern Cardinals. They are the state bird of seven states in the US.
Female cardinals are one of the few female North American songbirds that actually sing.
A mated pair shares song phrases, but the female usually sings a longer and slightly more complex song than the male.
