Photo of one of our yearling bucks.He is a "yearling",meaning he is a year old and this is his first set of antlers.Right now they are covered in "velvet",a hairy velvet like skin that covers the growing antlers and supplies it with nutrients and oxygen.As the amount of day light changes, the antlers will harden,turning into bone and the velvet will be shed.
