.....Without Color

Doing something today I have NEVER done before. Taking one of my beautiful most colorful flowers and simply removing all the color....because I am horrified and saddened by yet another school shooting in this country I love.

Another seventeen innocent souls lost.....another unknown number scarred for life seeing their classmates gunned down in front of them. Horrific. I went to school in NYC....in the Bronx no less....the ONE place I never heard the sound of gunshots was in my high school.

In 2018 there have been twelve school shootings in my country- TWELVE- and it is only Feb. 15. So yes, I am horrified and saddened not only by that number but by the fact that the term 'school shooting' has become an expression....a verb....a noun....so commonly used in this country. Taking all the color out of one of my flowers today seemed the best way to express my sorrow.
