You had it last when I asked you to hold it

Who's got my key?

by El-mundo

Somebody else has lost the key; I was just out drinking with you, it wasn't me.

I heard something fall but thought nothing at all,
We got into town and I bought shots and took a call.
I tripped on a flagstone and heard a funny tone,
But drunkenly concluded it was just my mobile phone.

My responsibility - This box of electricity,
I passed it onto you, despite your incapability,
I'm not admitting that I'm the one to blame
Because masked by self assurance is the reality of shame.

This one is dedicated to Booklotto based on a request of hers.

Discovered the photo in the archives, it was not set up, but the key and lock added from stock images - clutter removed,
lighting adjusted, wrote the poem to accompany afterwards. An expressive metaphor for feelings in my life at the moment,
but you have to laugh, right?
