Part of the flower was cut from the original. I saved the new cut in png and highlighted the edges. The flower was changed to BW and then was overlayed with a Neg. BW. A slight sliding of the top overlay was done to create depth. I then added a transparency of the colored version. and saved that in .jpg
..... SInce I wanted greater depth I did several overlays with the jpg. THen when I got what I wanted started adding the colored transparency( at about 70% transparency) over the BW. I did that one layer at a time working with exposure and saturation to bring the color back out. WHen I got that right I recut the image from the background and gave it a new blue background, replacing the flower image afterward. I cut off one flower for the corners of the image and added a blue streak.

Before AND After Contest Entry
If anyone is wondering why I posted this the way I did it's because I had a great deal of trouble doing it as an over and under or a side by side shot. For some reason it was coming in sideways and didn't cover all of the image. I wasn't posting it as a large shot either. After several hours of trying to get it posted I tried this format and finally got it posted here. I hope you enjoy the image! Thanks a million for stopping by
