Well the snow is FINALLY gone at my place! All but the remnants of a 10' pile the snow plow guy pushed up by the wood shed every time he plowed my road.
Shown here is a section of one of the first beds I put in at my place. It shows about half of what I call the 'PEONY BED'. I do companion planting in all my beds....as one plant finishes it's blossoming season, the next one starts. That way there is always something flowering in all the beds. In this section of my gardens it is the PEONIES that blossom first.
Taken a couple of days ago on a very overcast morning I was just documenting the growth of the PEONY shrubs. These are old and well established plants that absolutely amaze me each season w/ how rapidly they grow. Within a week or two each one of the shrubs you see in this image will need to have a 'cage' put around it.....by the end of this month I will barely be able to see the rock edgings here due to all the very large and bushy PEONY flowers. Cannot wait!
