Smoky Mountain National Park waterfall

Upper Laurel Falls

by Paul G.

We had waited five years for the events of this weekend. We discovered the existence of the synchronized fireflies totally by accident one year. Then, Eliana came. We could not wait to share this with her. Her mom and dad said we could take her. Being 5, she really was excited. She wanted to "climb a mountain". Well, the hike to Laurel Falls is about 1.5 miles one way. It was close enough to climbing a mountain to a 5 year old. We wanted to do another, but the weather was not cooperative. Anyway, this is the image of Laurel Falls. I will post one with Ellie tomorrow. Thank you for viewing.
