One of the few remaining 1950 style drive in restaurants is a few miles from where we live. In summer, every Thursday, there is an informal gathering of classic cars. Many are from the 1950's. In my mind, the 1957 Chevy Bel Air is the icon of that era. It stood out from the others at the time. In the 50's, cars had a certain style and class. You could recognize brands and styles from a long ways away. It is not like today's cars where the all more or less look alike. Many of these cars are now being restored by baby boomers, part for nostalgia, part for profit. Some of these cars, based on model/style, etc. can go for 6 figures. Who would have thought.
