summer painting

Walking alone

by Natalia Leigh

Summertime Art Contest Entry
Original painting oil on canvas 24"x36" framed. I brought the image from the forest and foggy meadows I walked in long time ago to this painting . I didn't see the animal, but depicted it in my mind, and let him walk between flowers I saw in June. I finished it this summer, and I walked in my mind far away from the moose, watching his lonely steps and trying to understand if ever animals felt so lonely like people. I tried to understand if people ever felt free like the wild creatures going wherever they want, enjoying time they never had to watch. Have we ever had the opportunity to lay between flowers, look at the sky, and think only about of the beauty of the Earth? May be, It happened with us only in childhood? Here is my moose, walking alone....

I like to paint animals, and I walked in woods long time ago enjoying beautiful June flowers and sunny day in the forest. I didn't see this moose, but I imagined him in my painting.
