Mixed Media: None | The Green man is the lore of Celtic and pre-Christian myth. He is the deity that is associated with spring and rebirth and is supposed to be the god of vegetation and plant life. Ancient forests were dark and scary places that our ancestors had to enter for food and fire wood. Creating a deity to honor the rebirth that took place annually in the forest and to explain those positive changes was a natural occurrence. I wanted create a tribute to this myth. He is often pictured as a man who has leaves comprising his hair and beard and is considered the protector of the forest. Hope you like him.
