A self portrait on a timer and then transformed to a mixed media creation.

This is a Victorian arch, across the road to Gunthorpe St (Whitechapel). Right next to George Yard buildings (demolished in the 1970's), where Jack the Ripper victim (?) Mather Tabram was murdered in 1888. I had looked for it before but could never find the exact location.

About the Arch:- This arch is all that remains of the Rothschild Buildings built to alleviate the housing shortage among poor Jews. The inscription states: "Erected by the Four Per Cent Industrial Dwellings Company Ltd, 1886". The Rothschild family formed the company and wealthy Jewish investors were guaranteed a 4% return on their money, hence the name. The Wentworth Street Arch was originally located in Thrawl Street and was one of two that marked the entrances to Rothschild Buildings. Rothschild Buildings were demolished in the 1970s.
