Original Whistle.

Whistle Blower Watkins

by Mr Jones

Macro Photos Contest Entry
This is the actual whistle, P.C Watkins blew (at 1.45, 30th Sep, 1888), after discovering the murdered 'Ripper' victim Catherine Eddowes, in Mitre Square. He was patrolling the area just 20 mins before but the Square was so dimly lit, it would have had portions that were pitch black. The Item is in 'The Jack the Ripper Museum' in Cable Street, E1. It is safe in a glass cab, so i changed the background (only) and adding a red patch behind the top of the whistle (for expressive purpose).
