Delonix regia [aka Queen Poinciana, Royal Poinciana, Flamboyant, and others] Is a tree which gets to 50 feet high with a wide spreading crown. Sometimes the crown is wider than the tree is high. The tree originates in Madagascar, but is now widely distributed through the tropics. The blossoms are about 4 inches in diameter variegate in colors of orange, red, scarlet and might have one white or yellow spotted petal and a white or yellow center.
