Flicker Wings

Northern Flickers are part of the Woodpecker family. There are two different forms throughout North America. The Yellow-shafted flicker in the east and north, and the Red shafted Flicker in the west.

This one is a yellow-shafted flicker with yellow shafts on it's tail and wings, highlighted by the sun which gives them an orange tint.
