Watercolor wash on cold press paper/slight crop
Battle of Kings
Nature Art Contest Contest Entry
This is a watercolor developed from a picture taken at Katmai National Park in Alaska. We saw numerous bears. I chose this particular photo for the scale of fish to bear. I had just finished fishing for King Salmon and they are a large fighting fish. The ones we caught were 30-50 pounds. It took all my strength and that of 2 others to land them. The bears made this look easy. They paid no attention to us on the shores of the streams as they engaged in their fishing.
