The port of Skagway is a popular stop for cruise ships, and the tourist trade is a big part of the business of Skagway. The White Pass and Yukon Route narrow gauge railroad, part of the area's mining past, is now in operation purely for the tourist trade and runs throughout the summer months.
I took this shot during my wonderful cruise tour of Alaska last July! We were taken on a fine ride in a train that took us up a mountain from one side of a mountain and brought us back from another side! Itook some pictures when the train stopped at some places enroute to the top of a mountain before climbing down thereby offering a wonderful travel and viewing experience!
