Wildlife Photo Contest Contest Entry
I was out for a stroll when a Chipping Sparrow landed a few feet away. I didn't know what kind of sparrow it was at the time so I wanted to get a picture of it. I was surprised when the sparrow hopped over a couple of feet to a young fledgling in the grass. I had just passed that spot and hadn't seen the fledgling at all and he was in short grass. Seeing a great photo op I took some pictures of mom and the chick. I was about 7' or 8' away. This was a shot when mom brought in a super sized caterpillar. It was definitely a bit big for the chick to handle and mom had to try several times to get it down the chick's throat. More of those shots will come later. This shows you never know what may cross your path or when. This is one of the reasons I always have my camera with me. I hope you enjoy! :o) Helvi
