Digital Artwork of the Month Contest Entry
Well darn me. I wanted to enter this in the flower art contest. My iPad had a agenda of its own and did not cooperate. European peasants carried these flowers to ward off pests, disease and bad luck. Anemones are beautiful fragile flowers. The Anemone has several different meanings depending on culture. The Western meaning of this flower pertains to Greek mythology. The goddess Aphrodite kept the mortal man Adonis as a lover. When Adonis was gored by a wild boar the tears from Aphrodite mixed with his blood and gave rise to the Anemone flower. In the Chinese and Egyptian cultures the flower is a symbolic of illness due to its color. I think if I were purple I might have a illness going on too. Culture and flowers are so fascinating.
Post Type: Digital Art | 2D Art | Created a Anemone with Procreate. Duplicated the image. Set images in film strip. Layered in a loop filter.
