Color Contest Entry
A year ago, I visited my ancestral place Srirangam in the state of Tamil Nadu (formerly madras State) in South India. Srirangam is famous for its Hindu God Vishnu ( The Protector Of the Universe) Temple, a major pilgrimage destination for Hindus and the largest temple complex in India.
According to the temple's website, Srirangam can be considered the biggest functioning Hindu temple in the world, as it covers an area of about 631,000 square metres (6,790,000 sq ft) with a perimeter of 4 km (10,710 ft).[1] Angkor Wat is bigger but non-functioning.
Amidst all the old worldly charm of the city, I crossed this bulding belonging to a rich businessman of the city I was told. The 18th century traditional Hindu architecture and the colous spurred me into stopping the car and click a few pictures. Thought this would make a colourful contribution to the 'colour' contest:)
Camera: Canon SX130IS, standard setting. No adjustments barring auto adjustment of light, no cropping.
Enjoy!
