A portrait of my charming and beautiful in-law

Happy Granny

by UMANO Graphics

Traditional Artwork of the Month Contest Entry
THEME: Happy Granny
MEDIUM: Charcoal Pencils on Paper
SIZE: 20/24 inches

I've drawn several grannies. But this one is unique. This is a Hyper-Realistic portrait of my in-law.

I've known many women, but never have I seen such a calm and peaceful woman.

'Mma' as we call her, is content. Like seriously content.

And watching her smile with so much grace, is all so refreshing.

She's been around for a while as she came for an eye surgery. So, I ceased the opportunity to draw her with my pencils.
Post Type: Traditional Art
Mixed Media: Minor

I mostly draw with Charcoal Pencils on Embossed papers. So I simply drew from top to bottom as I prefer drawing like a printing machine, carefully tidying up each spot and working my way down.

That's how I blended in my shades and my tortillons come in handy.

And in less than 3 days, it was all ready.

Working with Charcoal Pencils can be quite tricky. So I try to keep a clean background to avoid stains, and here we are, all ready both for Mma and all of us at FAR.

So I took a shot with my phone, used the editing tools of PixelLab to cover my signature and resized it on Pilxr so I can upload the recommended size for this contest.

And I'm so excited, as I know the best is certainly yet to come.
Thank you all.
