forgotten but not gone

The Quiet Ghosts,# III

by Sean T Phelan

Photograph of the Month Contest Entry
If you go way,way up into northern Quebec province and explore the deep pine forests around the foothills of the lonely Chic Choc mountains you might happen upon this 'corpse' of a late nineteen fifties/very early nineteen sixties vintage Morris 'Minor' sedan ( a type of British car which used to be imported into Canada's western provinces 'back in the day' that you never see down here in the U.S. and which you hardly ever see-at least not in 'running condition'- in Canada anymore either! ) I've been told that this one burned up when the repair shop that it was being worked on in caught fire many years ago and it's lain, quiet and abandoned with plenty of scorched and cast away automotive and architectural 'brick-a-brack',in the forest ever since! 'The tales it could tell!' people like to say! ( I wonder if we'd really want to hear them? )
