Takeoffs and Landings - Photo (a) Contest Entry
This image was taken by me on July 20, 1969. I was using an Argus 3C Rangefinder camera steadied on a footstool. The camera settings (shutter speed, f-stop, etc.) were given by the local newspapers. I sat with my family in our living room as was the rule for just about anyone with a television. My Grandmother was with us and she remarked that " I have seen the Wright Brothers and now Man on the Moon in my lifetime. Neil Armstrong's home town of Wapakoneta, Ohio is only about 125 miles from my home. He like the Wright Brothers, John Glenn, and Gene Kranz, Flight Director, are all Fellow Buckeyes. This image is one of about 30 that I took on this historic day. This image was digitized from the negative.
