Traditional Artwork of the Month Contest Entry
In medieval legend the Holy Grail is the cup used by Jesus at the Last Supper, and in which Joseph of Arimathea received Christ's blood at the Cross. Quests for it undertaken by medieval knights are described in versions of the Arthurian legends written from the early 13th century onward. The Holy Grail is a treasure that serves as an important motif in Arthurian literature. Different traditions describe the Holy Grail as the cup with miraculous powers that provide happiness, eternal youth or sustenance in infinite abundance The image I painted appeared on a background painting as I researched the Holy Grail. I have saved the original image.
