Alphabet letter I Contest Entry

I have always been interested in indigenous peoples. This is an Indian Chief of the Sioux tribe, I think! I read that the word Indian was given to the native Americans because the Western travellers,at the time thought they had arrived in the Asian area of India. I looked up many old photographs to get the idea for this. It started out as a portrait practice with pencil.. but I could resist adding colour
