Drifting without a motor among the cypress trees

Birds of Prey (Raptors) Contest Entry
This osprey had just spotted a fish for its first catch of the day and spread its wings before taking off as we floated toward it. Any use of a motor to change direction or slow the boat would have ruined the opportunity to capture the raptor with its wings fully spread 5 to 6 feet.
Post Type: Photography
Mixed Media: Minor No cropping. Only minor adjustments to structure.

It would have been a better shot with more space on both sides of the wingtips. With a crop sensor camera and floating directly at the subject, it was all about timing - - take the shot right then and there, or lose the opportunity to get the whole bird in the frame.
