In the summer of 2016 during my visit to CAL I made a trip to Point Reyes. It is a prominent cape and popular Northern California tourist destination on the Pacific coast. It is located in Marin County approximately 30 miles (50 km) west-northwest of San Francisco. The headland is protected as part of Point Reyes National Seashore.
I took a few pictures of these deers (general terminology) grazing happily in the wild. I understand that there are other species also, but I don't know their tech names.
Camera: Canon SX130IS, slight zoom, image slightly adjusted for light and sharpness, and colour, slightly cropped and resized.
Enjoy!
PS: my good fellow artist Mike tells me that these may be Tule Elk. I was not familiar with these North Almerican species! Sorry!. I googled and found the following explanation.
"The coats are light, buffy beige with a darker brown long haired mane circling the necks of both the males and females. The calves are similar to deer fawns, with a light brown spotted coat. All animals display a prominent white rump. They average 7 feet in length and stand 4-5 feet in height at the shoulder."
