Big storm chasing us up the highway.

Stormy Idaho

This is my idea of "outdoors". The rural highway, the small farm nestled on the slope above the North Fork of the Salmon River, and a serious storm getting ready to dump some wind and rain down on us as we travel north from Boise, Idaho into the southeast corner of Montana. We skirted the storm most of this day, passing through the small town of Gibbonsville on Highway 93, until we had to turn east to cross over Skalkaho Pass. We ended up high on the mountain in the middle of the storm, with hail the size of golf balls and heavy rain. It WAS glorious!. We loved it and felt secure in our Suburban but the little 2 door sedan that was following was thrilled when I pulled over under some big trees to get a little wind break, they followed us in while we waited out the worst of it.
