These three paintings are large on A2 cardboard paper and A1 poster paper.
My studio is rented and I am not allowed to hang things that will make marks on the walls. A difficulty if you are an artist.
I live in this room too. We have a large bed which I camaflarge with throws and cushions but the bare walls were horrible. So... On a visit to Haffkruk in Germany I visited an art studio of a solo artist who did sea and sky only. In all sizes and were spectacular yet simple. He was also successful. So back in Portugal I decided on a window effect on my bare walls. I bought blue card and painted two scenes from memory of when I was at sea crewing. One is the Middle of the Atlantic when you haven't seen another ship for days or an aeroplane. The other has some green affects. This is from my memory of the sea from the tip of our island. Very deserted at this part. . There are sandbanks to the entrance channel. There is another barrier island on the other side. The third is a picture I painted on Canvas whilst sitting in our cockpit. It is of the Culatra anchorage and the boat opposite is Mr Griffin.
I had this printed to a poster. All were put on my walls with rolled masking tape then surrounded with masking tape at the edges to make a frame which I marked up with bic markers in brown red to create grains. This can all be taken down and the walls will be unmarked. They are a bit wobbly as I had to stand on the bed to do it all. I have to say I love my wall now. Gives me much pleasure and have had people asking me to do similar in their little cassas.
