I was starting to think I wouldn?t be raising monarchs this year;last year they started showing up in mid-May, this years cold spring prevented an early arrival, and I didn?t start finding eggs until almost the middle of July! This is a pair of Monarchs that I released early one morning on a flowering butterfly bush next to the house,it was a bit cool out,so they were quite happy to stay put,waiting for the sun to come up over the trees.
