This is a cornflower, better known as chicory (Cichorium intybus), a woody perennnial wildflower that has become naturalized in the US;it is also called wild bachelor?s button and blue dandelion (it is a member of the dandelion family) to name a few. I came across this one growing in the neighbor?s field in late spring, early in the morning with the sunlight illuminating it. I photographed the flower from behind, then adjusted sharpness, brightness color saturation and edited out the distracting background by darkening it.
