I found this lying on the sand at Bodega Bay (of Alfred Hitchcock fame, where The Birds was filmed.) It was a big relief to get out of the ashes created from the Glass Fire in Northern California for a few hours. When I first saw the feather, I thought it was an ash, but no it was a tiny, tiny, bird feather! I only added the dime for size comparison...
