Caught this Northern water snake just as it was coming out of the water. Northern Water snakes grow 22-53". They are active both day and night. Found in most aquatic situations. hunts for frogs, small fish, salamanders, juvenile turtles, crustaceans and even small mammals. Found in large range across the US. Maine to coast of North Carolina,northwest South Carolina and Georgia to South Alabama and East Colorado, northeast through Minnesota to south Ontario
