Traditional Artwork of the Month Contest Entry
Day 1. Adding to kitchen collection of fruit and veg. In unusual still life situ.
Displayed tangerines, basil leaves and red cabbage in a display similar to that in a magazine.
Sketched out on prepared canvas.
Day 2. Used alcohol pens for under painting. Intention to do acrylic top and details.
Day 3. Pen work dried. I liked the effect. Wondered if the pens would take a preserving finish. Sought advice. Some said pens unstable can do strange things. I read spray with a spray adhesive then varnish.
Day 4. Decided to spray adhesive. Got interrupted went back and did the spray. Returned later and it had all run. See second picture.
I checked spray and found I had used hair spray not the adhesive one.
Lessons learned.. when interrupted recheck your actions and tools.
I had done a test piece. See lesson. 2
Now I have a mess. But hubby likes it.
Lesson 3 will be how I corrected it all. Art can be fun. So they say.
