Animal Art Contest Contest Entry
I met Harry several few years back. We were really impressed with Harry the lamb and his family. But I was unable to draw and paint him until now. I drew a dog a few weeks ago to enter into this contest, but decided within the last few days, that with Easter approaching, to enter Harry because of the symbolism of a little lamb. I drew and painted him with oil pastels on black Hahnemuhle Velour paper, 24 x 32 cm (9.4" x 12.6"). One side is almost felt like, very soft; the other side shiny smooth, not to draw on. The father of this family was our youngest son?s best man, and he, his wife and young family raised sheep, domesticated rabbits, and other animals. I hope they never ate Harry, as he was a precious pet. They shared how he would sleep with the child(ren), dressed in diapers like a baby and drank from a bottle for a long time. We fell in love with him and his adorable mannerisms right away. Now there were other lambs and adult sheep of various colors in the herd. Hope you enjoy meeting Harry.
