Man Impacted Landscape - Photo Contest Entry
This past winter we spent time in the Tucson area for 10 weeks. We took a day trip to the Patagonia region of southeastern Arizona. The views out our windows were stunning as we drove by miles of golden prairie grasses and a few cattle. These field of golden grasses were contained by barbed wire fences that ran on for miles. The high country of Patagonia has rolling hills and bordered by the Santa Rita Mountain range to the west. Being cattle country, windmills are built to pump water to fill large stock tanks for their cattle. This windmill was sitting all by itself without power lines or phone poles. The Santa Rita mountains provided a great backdrop. The cattle were posing, and the golden grass fields were stunning. This is a perfect entry for the Man's influence on the land.
