Mixed Media: Minor This was photographed raw, so I had to make minor adjustments to accurately reveal its natural contrast, highlights, and shadows while modestly enhancing texture, clarity, vibrancy, and saturation. Some cropping , but no image alteration or background manipulation.

This bird house was part of dozens of bird condos set up at an Audubon location a short drive away. Purple Martins nest here each year. I have not seen these birds outside of this nesting location. My technique is to focus on the babies with 1/4000 shutter speed. When they lean out, I know that food is arriving. This photo happened to catch the female a small fraction of an inch before landing.
