I painted with acrylic paint and drew it out with a pencil.
I wanted to paint one of my favorite insects. I drew it out on my canvas and then painted it with a cicada near me. Cicadas have been a part of my life since I was a kid and I always hear them in the trees or by my door today, I've always wanted to paint a cicada and I have a Mexican American folk tell in mind that says that if a
cicada sings in a mouth , it can help take away a stammer or studder.
So that's what I painted for my little but big art. I use acrylic paint and I wanted to have a glowing effect, so I used some bright colors on the body and wings with darker paint in the top and background.

Little But BIG Art Contest Entry
I used acrylic paint to paint my favorite bug or insect.. I always wanted to paint it and I painted it in a way that I haven't seen in cicada paintings.
I drew out the idea and then I painted it in different bright colors as a painted the mouth with darker colors, giving an glowing effect overall.
I painted in this way of a Mexican American folk tell and in some cases it works. To let a cicada sing in a mouth for two minutes or more to take away a person's stammer or studder.
I like the colors on the wings, that took some time to think out, but thought, let's have fun with paint and create something beautiful.
