White Sands New Mexico National Park

Desert Snow-Capped Mountain

On our way to Tucson last winter, we stopped at the White Sands National Park. The rugid landscape was a combination of the white sands, casuist vegetation and mountain peaks in the distance. The air was heavy like it was encased in smog, but it wasn't pollution. I think the snowcapped mountains and the desert warmth produced a sort of temperature inversion effect. If there are any weather experts, maybe you can explain it better. All I know it was a stop well worth taking and we will stop again.
Post Type: Photography
Mixed Media: Minor Shot with my Nikon D7000 and a Sigma 16/300 lens. I shot in RAW and convert in Lightroom. Cropped add a of contrast to compensate for the morning temperature inversion.
