Mixed Media: Some | This image was taken shortly after sunrise, and a fast shutter speed was necessary. Also, the sky was light behind the subject, so much of the post processing involved lighting up the image, especially decreasing shadows.

I had been visiting a nearby site where Great Horned Owls took over a Bald Eagle?s nest over a year ago. They gave me great opportunities for photography mornings and evenings since seeing the owlets about five weeks prior. But this evening was different. I didn?t expect much, as one of the two fledglings flew from the location a few days prior, and the remaining one stayed high in the shade of the pine. I figured my time was over. When I saw no more than I expected that evening, I started to drive away. That was when the owlet flew to a perfect location in a dead tree with vines. The other owlet flew up there as well, providing me with both individual and joint shots unlike I had ever expected. This is probably my best solo shot.
