I have enjoyed the company of a hoya plant for about 15 years. Hoya flowers grow in a ball-shaped cluster and each cluster may contain up to 40 individual flowers. Each flower looks perfect as though it may have been molded from wax thus its common name. However, while wax-like in appearance before blooming, when each flower bud opens it has a soft fuzzy edge which you can see in the photo. Mine has the fragrance of vanilla and blooms from around May through August.
This photo is a view from behind one of my hoya clusters.
