Just a cool shot with my phone at low tide. A wooden bridge piling that has been apparently repurposed for barnacle breeding. When I saw this from the edge of the beach, I thought there was an owl sitting on one of the pilings but on closer investigation, I saw that it was just a large Lady Skipper shell that apparently latched onto the top of the piling and then got stuck there when the tide went out.
