I created this as an exercise in empathy. We had to pick a public figure who was not publicly liked and figure out how to view them in an empathetic way. I picked my public figure and did research. I found that he had a very difficult and lonely childhood and addiction problems ? unresolved trauma. I work with people in recovery, so based on this knowledge I was able to view the public figure in a difficult light. I started with viewing the individual as an entitled liar to a deeply troubled and neglected child, which is sad.
