~ Boreas was the Greek god of winter and ice, as well as the god of the north wind. He was one of the most powerful and cruelest. Many myths and mythological stories reflect Boreas as being Old Man Winter. Boreas was a very grumpy old man. He took joy in making landscapes die and voiding them from beautiful foliage. When winter is over he always returns to Far Northern Sky. At the base of a mountain he lives in a house made of snow and ice waiting til the next season of winter.
