Beautiful Art Contest Entry

I have waited years for my skill level to develop to the point where I could attempt this level of painting. When I thought I might be able to do this I started the painting. As always, I start a painting that I might be able to do knowing I will learn things along the way as I explore how to bring it about. I am pleased with this oil painting and can't wait to employ my new found knowledge on the next one. The painting is oil on canvas 26 by 20 inches.

Mixed Media: None | I have always wanted to do this type of work. But knew that I did not have the skill level to do it. I also knew that someday I would have, at least enough to attempt it. As always, I attempt to paint something just beyond my reach but may be possible to succeed. The biggest thing I learned with this painting is attend to the smoothness of the canvas on the next one I do.
