Photograph of the Month Contest Entry
This is a purse flower, so named because the blossoms look like little purses. I was working on this flower when I saw a St Patrick's Day image created by Ray Gordon. His image changed my whole thought process. The next thing I knew I was not only creating a St. Patrick's Day image I was creating a poem to go with it. I hadn't planned to do either. LOL I want to send a special thank you to Ray for inspiring me with this notion. I hope you all enjoy my image and poem. The poem is titled: "Leprechaun Purse" Thanks for stopping by! :o) Helvi

Beside a rainbow it is said , ... A leprechaun hides gold .... But so disguised is this grand find .... That few find and behold....

...There is a secret you must know .... A magical display .... And only on St Patrick's Day.... Will this sight come your way....

A flower that looks like a purse.... Will bloom before your eyes.... A green glow will illuminate.... It's here you'll find your prize....

Pure Gold resides within this purse .... A bounty of pure wealth.... But you won't find it just by chance....
It comes by using stealth....

The Leprechauns of Irish lore.... Are clever with their tricks.... Who'd ever guess a flower's glow.... Would hide such precious picks....
Post Type: Mixed Media Photography
Mixed Media: Major | To create : cut out the flower from it's background and saved. The flower was outlined, with shadow added behind the plant and blooms. I then cut out just the flowers copied, overlayed it and changed the hue to green. A second overlay of the original blooms was added in which I gave soft edges to giving the flowers the yellow and green look. Background - is the original image blurred with a radial foil filter added and slightly embossed.
