Painted Pink Art Contest Contest Entry

These are called Burning Heart tulips and I painted them in acrylics on canvas. They are beautiful with flames of colour shooting up them. They are just one of over one million tulips of every variety and colour at the Canadian Tulip Festival held annually each May in Ottawa, Ontario (the capital of Canada). After the war the Netherlands sent 100,000 tulip bulbs to Ottawa to thank the Canadians for liberating them and for sheltering the Dutch Royal family during the war.
