Rescue of a seal

The connection

The Connection Once upon a time, there were volunteer marine rescuers working in the northern waters of the Pacific coast who came upon a seal entangled in fishing line to the point, where it almost drowned. They brought it aboard their vessel. They calmed the seal down with a mild sedative and proceeded to remove the fishing line. In some places it cut in a half an inch to it’s flesh. From the time the team started, the seal never stopped looking at Evelyn who was removing the line assisted by two others, before letting the seal go back into the water, Evelyn noticed that the seal was looking right at her, she reached out and held the seal’s head in her hands. She slowly pulled her hands away and the seal was still looking straight at her. The seal turned away and then looked back then quickly dove below the surface. A week went by and then, as legend would have it, the seal was back and jumped onto the back deck. They were so thrilled to see it. They fed it with bait fish, it stayed a few minutes and dove back into the water. Every week from then on the seal would find the volunteers boat swim by and jump onto the rear deck and would have a visit. The weather got colder and the volunteers secured the boat for the winter. Late in the following spring, Evelyn and two others were checking out their vessel and two seals came by the dock and they started their antics they were so excited. The three volunteers waved and the two seals, after their show, left and were never seen again. Truly a connection.
